2015 RAMMS::ROCKFALL Release Workshop ¶
The workshop marks the official release of the new RAMMS::ROCKFALL module developed in collaboration with ETH Zürich. The aim of this one-day workshop is to present the ROCKFALL module by explaining the applied theory and demonstrating the handling of the software. We will present the comparison of model results with experiments and real scale case studies. Practitioners will talk about their experience with the ROCKFALL module as beta testers by presenting interesting case studies and comparing the obtained results with state-of-the-art procedures. The workshop program is designed to give sufficient room for discussions and exchange with the participants and the RAMMS team. The workshop took place on April 17th 2015 at WSL, Birmensdorf.
2014 RAMMS XChange Workshop ¶
The main aim of this one-day workshop is to exchange experiences with RAMMS users by presenting interesting case studies. This is valuable feedback for the RAMMS team as well as for all RAMMS users. New RAMMS developments are presented and important RAMMS related topics for more advanced users are discussed. This second XChange workshop took place on November 14th 2014 at WSL in Birmensdorf, Switzerland.
2013 RAMMS User Workshop Sochi ¶
Begin of June 2013 the RAMMS::AVALANCHE team travelled to Sochi, invited by the Moscow State University MSU. Around 40 participants from all over Russia were instructed how to use RAMMS for snow avalanche applications. Together with local expersts we discussed the impressive avalanche problems in the Caucasian Mountains.
2012 RAMMS International User Workshop Davos ¶
The first international RAMMS User Workshop took place beginning of September 2012 in Davos, Switzerland at the Sunstar Park Hotel. This successfull 5-day Workshop was an opportunity for over 70 participants from all over the world to get to know the basic and advanced features of RAMMS. The workshop covered applications of RAMMS::DEBRIS FLOW and RAMMS::AVALANCHE as well as blocks discussing advanced topics and an excursion in the region of Davos. The close interactions between the participants and the RAMMS team was very instructive for all. The following pictures give an impression of the workshop days. The feedback from the participants was very positive.
2010 RAMMS User Workshop ISSW Anchorage ¶
We organized a half-day user Workshop at the International Snow Science Workshop ISSW in Alaska. This was a good opportunity for practicionners and snow scientist to get in touch with RAMMS and to discuss about potential applications. The feedback was very positive and we hope to see RAMMS running on some North-American computers soon.
